ISHPEMING CITY COUNCIL
The Ishpeming City Council consists of five (5) members elected from the City at large. Each council member serves a term of four (4) years and is limited to serve two (2) consecutive terms. The term of office for a newly elected council member and Mayor begins at the December organizational meeting.
The Mayor is elected at each General City Election. Those council members whose terms do not expire immediately following the General Election are automatically candidates for the office of Mayor.

NOTICE OF VACANCY ON THE CITY COUNCIL
There is a vacant seat on the Ishpeming City Council for an unexpired term ending November 2026. Individuals interested in being on the November 5, 2024 ballot for this vacancy, must be a resident of and registered to vote in the City of Ishpeming to be qualified.
Qualified candidates must file a nominating petition and file a sworn affidavit of identity, in-person, at the City Clerk’s Office. The deadline for filing nominating petitions for the vacant seat is Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.
