Negaunee/Ishpeming Water Authority Well Testing – Ishpeming side of Teal Lake

The Negaunee/Ishpeming Water Authority will be conducting well development work done with our contractor at our new well location near Teal Lake starting at 1 pm today (December 15th.) Our development/testing will continue all week (12/15 – 12/19.) It is advised that due to the amount of water being pumped and time that EGLE requires to meet requirements for proper development/testing, that great caution should be taken into consideration to the public for anyone wanting to go out onto the ice from the Ishpeming side of Teal Lake. The ice may be compromised and not seem as safe as in previous days due to the amount of water that will be pumped towards the lake, or potentially open water in some areas. If possible, use extreme caution traversing from the Negaunee side, or please stay off the ice towards the Ishpeming side of the lake if you can until our testing concludes and the weather cooperates in creating better ice conditions.
