CITY MANAGER
The City of Ishpeming is located in the heart of Michigan’s central Upper Peninsula and is seeking candidates for the position of City Manager. Home to residents with a strong-sense of place and community pride, the City is seeking a candidate that is approachable and energetic to provide leadership in moving the City forward. The Manager reports to a five-person City Council elected in a non-partisan setting. The position offers a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and a comprehensive benefit package.
The successful candidate must possess good analytical, management, communication and municipal finance skills. They must have demonstrated good leadership qualities and have demonstrated strong personnel/union, budget/finance, and grant writing/grant administration skills.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, business, or related field. Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government in a supervisory, management or administrative position.
