Adopt-a-Hydrant
Businesses and homeowners alike are encouraged to “Adopt-A-Hydrant” near your business or home. There are approximately 300 hundred fire hydrants in the City of Ishpeming. Having hydrants clear of snow in an emergency can save minutes, where minutes could mean life or death.
HYDRO HERO PROGRAM
Help keep Ishpeming Safe and adopt a fire hydrant this winter!
Kids (17 and under) within the City of Ishpeming can team up with a parent to keep nearby hydrants cleared of snow and help firefighters save precious time in an emergency.
The Hydro Hero program is designed to actively involve children in helping firefighters, their neighbors, and their community.
In March there will be a celebration at Doozers Cookies for a special thank you with the Ishpeming Fire Department. Hydro Hero Certificates will be presented and Hydrant Cookies and Hot Cocoa will be offered.
