Ishpeming Housing Readiness Toolkit
The Ishpeming Housing Development Toolkit reviews all 3,085 parcels in the city to identify where new housing can realistically be built. It brings together information from property records, zoning maps, soils, wetlands, slopes, infrastructure, and flood risk to give a complete picture of development potential.
The toolkit also matches local housing demand with site conditions, showing opportunities for single-family homes, townhouses, small multifamily buildings, and mixed-use residential spaces. At the same time, it pinpoints parcels where current zoning rules are standing in the way of development.
With this resource, city leaders, developers, and policymakers can concentrate on the highest-priority sites, update zoning where needed, and make smarter decisions about where to invest in infrastructure.
